How To.... Setup Your Outlook 2007 Email Account
In order to set up Microsoft Outlook 2007® to retrieve your email messages from your POP3 mail account follow these steps:- Open
Outlook 2007
- Go
to the menu option entitled "Tools", then select the option "Account Settings"
- Select Microsoft Exchange, POP, IMAP, or HTTP > click Next .
- On
the first screen that displays, select the option under the heading,
E-mail, "Add a new e-mail account".

- Under the Auto Account Setup , place a check in the box called Manually Configure Server settings or additional types, click Next.
- Select Internet Email , click Next.
- From here, you will need to enter the following information:
User Information:
Your Name: Type your name as you would like it to appear to your mail recipients.
E-mail Address: Type your e-mail address as yourname@yourwebsite.com
Server Information:
Account Type: POP
Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourwebsite.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourwebsite.com
Logon Information:
User Name: Type your full e-mail address (i.e. yourname@yourwebsite.com)
Password: Type the password given at the time of your account setup.
Check the box remember password if you would like the system to remember your password. Please note: requiring your password to be entered each time you open Outlook will ensure your email is better protected and will prevent others from accessing your email without your consent.
Click the More Settings... option to go to the next step...

- Click the tab across the tab entitled, "Outgoing Server". Check the box
labeled, "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".

- Click "OK" to
close this screen. Proceeding to the next step of the wizard
will prompt you to select "Finish". Go ahead and click, Finish then
close Outlook 2007 and restart the program.
- Select
the button entitled, "Send and Receive", when the system prompts
you for an account name and password, enter your full email
address (i.e. yourname@yourwebsite.com), and then your password.
- At this point your email messages will begin to populate your inbox, and your email account setup has now been completed!
